19th Aug. 2020

Covid can't stop us! The Mindful Money conference had to switch to online but still brought together experts to look at what is required to build a sustainable future.

Investing for a Sustainable Recovery

For our Mindful Money conference, we were joined by a very distinguished speaker and panelist line up. The keynote speaker was Jane Wrightson, Retirement Commissioner. Jane was  previously chief executive of NZ On Air, the Broadcasting Standards Authority, Screen Producers Association, and was NZ’s first woman Chief Censor.

Our first panel discussed messaging for the public around investing ethically/responsibly, who is most interested in ethical investment/RI and how the sector can build trust and confidence from the public in the 'credibility of ethical investing'. This panel included Sarah Whitelock, a Principal and the Leader of Mercer’s Consumer Wealth business, Brian Henry, Director and the Founder of Amanah Ethical, Di Papadopoulos, head of Sales and Marketing at Booster and Hugh Stevens, CEO of Smartshares.

Our second panel looked into the effectiveness of divestment strategies to affect positive changes in relation to climate change. Our second panel included John Berry, co-founder of Pathfinder Asset Management and Caresaver, Rebekah Swan, ESG Investment Specialist and Head of Product for AMP Capital, and finally Sam Stubbs, Simplicity's founder.
